A CALL FOR FC COURTHOUSE & MV SQUARE ARTWORK

WHERE ON THE SQUARE ARE KEN & FRIENDS EXHIBIT
SEPTEMBER 19-NOVEMBER 19
Opening Reception September 20th (Details below)


This exhibit will feature a collection of photographs taken by young students involved in Franklin County Library classes coordinated by Ken Greer.  These are exceptional photographs taken in and around the Mt. Vernon square.  Persons viewing the exhibit will have a chance to enter a drawing, the winner of which will get a copy of a Ken Greer courthouse photograph.  Photos and other artwork of the courthouse  and Mt. Vernon square taken/created at various times by locals will also be exhibited during this event.  

This exhibit will include both professional and amateur photographs and artwork.  Contact us if you are interested in entering.  Email:franklincountarts@gmail.com or Phone: 903-434-9130 or 903-305-8023.  We will take in exhibit pieces by appointment or during regular business hours on Fridays (10am-3pm).  This "Ken & Friends" Exhibit will open with a reception at the Cultural Arts Center (CAC) on September 20th from 10am-11am before the courthouse dedication ceremony.  The CAC will be open until 2pm that day for anyone wishing to come see the exhibit.

FCAA'S NEXT MAIN HALL EXHIBIT @ THE CAC

Joy Michele Chitsey will be teaching the Art portion of our Children's Summer Art Classes.  She is a hometown resident and spent 33 years as a teacher with Mt. Vernon ISD teaching regular elementary classes, as well as, Jr. High Art classes.  Art has been a passion all her life: pencil drawing, oil painting, and quilting.  Her new interests include colored pencils and acrylic paints.  Michele is married to Danny Chitsey, and they have two children and one grandson.  

These FREE classes will be held at the Cultural Arts Center.

The classes will be split between Art, Theatre, and Edible Art.

2014 FCAA TEXAS MOON FILM FEST, JUNE 21ST










                                           




We had another wonderful evening of arts & film at our 2014 Texas Moon Film Fest last Saturday!  We have many people to thank.  We would like to send out  special thanks our President, Jean Pamplin for all her hard work in making this event possible!
