FCAA'S LAEL NELSON PAINTING RAFFLE TO BE DRAWN ON SATURDAY @ COUNTRYFEST

LAST CHANCE TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR FRANKLIN COUNTY ARTS ALLIANCE'S (FCAA) LAEL NELSON PAINTING RAFFLE!

AWARD WINNING ARTIST LAEL NELSON PAINTING “CHILDREN IN HAY”  WINNING RAFFLE TICKET TO BE DRAWN SATURDAY AT COUNTRYFEST.

VISIT THE FCAA COUNTRYFEST BOOTH FOR INFORMATION ON THE TIME OF THE DRAWING.

Lael Nelson is a Western and Nostalgic Realist.  Prior to a recent move,
Lael and her husband Marshall lived on the banks of Lake Cypress Springs
in East Texas and her art was featured locally through shows at the
Franklin County Historical Association, and at the Franklin County Arts
Alliance in the permanent art collection. Lael’s paintings have been
donated to raise funds for numerous organizations.  Her art adorned aprons
at the Methodist Church Bazaar and prior to the Winnsboro Bakery
changing hands, her art was on the tins used to ship pound cakes,  The
painting being raffled off by the FCAA this year was owned by another local
artist, Kathy Rachal.  Lael has captured a number of awards and anyone
who is familiar with her art will gladly give $5 for one of 300 raffle tickets in
order to earn a chance to win it.  The art being raffled is a
photo-realist painting of children in a hay barn gathering eggs.

Lael was raised in the ranching and wheat country of West Texas and
spent twenty years as a commercial artist.  Most of her paintings are
fashioned from photographs taken in the late 1880’s to the 1940’s.  They
are so authentic to the photograph, viewers need to look carefully at the
creative aspect of the art Lael produces.  Mt. Vernon is grateful to have
had Lael as part of their creative community.  She has been missed since
her move to South Texas.  The men and women portrayed in her work
exhibit the spiritual strength and toughness required for life on the open
plains,  She works in watercolor, oil, and gouache on paper.  The Best of
Portrait Painting; Best of Watercolor, Painting Light and Shadow; and
Portrait Inspirations are just three of the publications Lael’s paintings have
appeared in.

TICKETS CAN BE PURCHASED AT THE CULTURAL ARTS CENTER ON FRIDAY (10AM-3PM) OR AT THE FRANKLIN COUNTY ARTS ALLIANCE BOOTH AT COUNTRYFEST ON SATURDAY.

1 TICKET $5 OR 3 TICKETS FOR $10
