The Franklin County Arts Alliance (FCAA) is doing a series of 3 FREE Youth Workshops. The series will kick-off Saturday, July 27, 2013 (1pm-3pm), with Art 101. The instructor is Rhonda Cross of the Renaissance Art Academy in Texarkana. According to their website, “Renaissance Art Academy is dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of Fine Art as Renaissance Masters learned them centuries ago.” They implement the Gluck Method, pioneered by Larry Gluck, of Los Angeles, some quarter of a century ago.
This method “is a planned sequence of steps designed to give anyone the ability to draw and paint beautifully.” (www.gluckmethod.com)
The FCAA is excited for Rhonda to share this time honored method of artistic learning with our local youth!
The next workshop will be the following Saturday, August 3rd (1pm-3pm). This workshop focuses on the art of Storybook Writing, as instructed by Lisa Simmons. The final workshop is Acting 101, instructed by Christian Galloway, on Saturday, August 10th (1pm-3pm). Look for further information on the Storybook Writing & Acting 101 Workshops next week.
All workshops will be located at the Cultural Arts Center, 100 Rusk St., Mt. Vernon, one block west of the Courthouse. Once again, these workshops are FREE to participants (paid for, in part by the St. Clair Endowment, through the Franklin County Historical Association). For more information or to register, please contact Christian Galloway at: franklincountyarts@gmail.com or (903) 434-9130. Also,
