RON BIGONY EXHIBIT

The Franklin County Arts Alliance cordially invites the public to an opening reception for Ron Bigony, to be held at the Cultural Arts Center on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 7:00pm.  Guests can look forward to light appetizers and live dulcimer music at the reception.   The exhibit will also be open on June 8^th, and June 15^th, (the final day) from 10:00am-3:00pm, or by appointment by calling (903) 537-4034.  Admission is free.

Mr. Bigony has won numerous awards for his paintings, most recently, the American High Winds Medal from the American Water Color Society.  This award was for his painting, “Bank Ally”, which was part of the American Water Color Society’s 145^th Annual International Exhibition.  Another of his paintings, “West End Depot” will be displayed in the Western Federation of Water Color Societies 37^th Annual Exhibition in Las Vegas.

Another item of interest is that Mr. Bigony has completed for commissioned paintings for the permanent collection of the new Omni Hotel in Dallas.  These paintings are located in the West End Meeting Room and will be in background shots in four episodes of the re-make of “Dallas”, a new TV series which should begin running this summer. 

The FCAA is very fortunate to be exhibiting the work of this artist, and we hope you will join us at his reception on June 1^st.

MAD HATTER TEA AND FASHION SHOW

The Mad Hatter Tea and Fashion Show turned out beautifully! Thank You, so much to all who attended! AND A big "Thank You!" to those who worked so hard to make it all happen! Everyone involved helped in making the tea a truely magical event!

The Mad Hatter Tea and Fashion Show is coming up next week, Thursday, May3! Tickets are going fast. So if you would like to attend, come on down to the Cultural Arts Center today by 3pm or visit the Franklin County Public Library next week. It would be a great way to celebrate Mother's Day a few days early!

SUCCESSFUL OPENING!

We had an amazing turn-out for the High School Exhibit Opening Reception/Poetry Reading last night!  The FCAA would like to send a big  "THANK YOU!"  to everyone who made this possible.  Especially: Ms. Audrey Norman, Mr. Carey Gable, Marzelle Robertson, and Cindy Kent.  


Those unable to attend, never fear.  You can come view the HS Exhibit on Fridays from 10:00am-3:00pm. It will be showing until Friday, May 18 and is well worth a trip down to the Cultural Arts Center.  We have some very talented youth in our community!

HIGH SCHOOL ART EXHIBIT OPENING

The Franklin County Arts Alliance is excited to be hosting a reception/poetry reading Thursday, April 19 at the Cultural Arts Center from 6:30-8:30PM, for the opening of our High School Art Exhibit.  It will be wonderfully creative evening!  We look forward to seeing you there!

RENTAL INFORMATION

The Franklin County Arts Alliance does rent the Cultural Arts Center  out to other groups and individuals.  Our own activity will take precedence, however, and we prefer rentals to be booked at least six weeks ahead of the event.  More information can be obtained during a visit with Christian on Fridays or through Beverly Strange, our Facility Rental Chair.

FCAA Believes the impossible is possible...

In Lewis Carroll's masterpiece Alice through the Looking Glass, Alice is forced to do six impossible things to defeat the Jabberwocky.  In a scene with the White Queen, Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."

"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.  "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day.  Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

In the vein of six impossible things, the Non-Profit Franklin County Arts Alliance is:

1.  Looking for a great number of members, volunteers, and funding patrons to promote the arts in our community.  Looking for local bloggers, visual, literary, and theatrical program leaders and students.

2.  Looking for a band director and musicians to build an in-house Classical, Celtic, Christian orientated string and vocal group.

3.  Looking for mechanical, construction, and landscape savvy volunteers.

4. Looking for plain old smiles and beautiful encouragement.  Talented individuals in numbers, publicity, and marketing are welcome, as well as computer experts can take us into the future.

5.  Looking for a stainless dishwasher that reaches sanitizing heat during wash cycle, and electric wall heat-on-demand hot water heater to go with it and under cabinet ice-maker.

6.  Looking for 76 folding chairs to match the 24 presently in house and 12 large folding round tables would be nice too.

Our Cultural Arts Center at 100 Rusk Street is open from 10-3p.m. on Fridays.  Stop by to visit with Christian Galloway, our office manager and event coordinator.  Sign up, join us and support "Art" in Franklin County.  Donations are Tax Deductible.
