TIETE LYCKLAMA
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP

Tiete Lycklama, nationally acclaimed watercolor and oil artist, will be in Mt. Vernon leading a Watercolor Workshop the first Saturday in February at the Cultural Arts Center, 100 Rusk St. (one block west of the courthouse). Some of her art will be on special exhibit there and at the Frame Up Art Gallery on Main during February.
Originally from the Netherlands, Lycklama and her family came to the United States in 1982. The family spent a number of years in the dairy business in Mt. Vernon and presently live in Oklahoma. She looks forward to seeing old friends and meeting new.
"Painting for me is a way to express feelings I cannot put words to, hopefully others will experience these same feelings when viewing my work. I thank my Creator for this talent, and I look forward to sharing and encouraging others in creating art," she said.
Lycklama has studied under well known artist, including Jo Taylor. She has garnered numerous awards for her work and is the winter artist of choice for four seasonal painting workshops sponsored by the Franklin County Arts Alliance in 2016.
There will be a workshop fee of $30 for the February class. Participants may bring a sack lunch for the noon break, drinks will be available. The FCAA offers other creative opportunities for people interested in Culinary Arts, Music, and Social Media. There is a weekly art class on Tuesdays with artist, Efton Edwards of Winnsboro and two fellowship groups, LAMADE, every Friday morning and Fellowship of the Brush on the 1st & 3rd Thursday evenings.
