GINGERBREAD & JINGLE BELLS
GINGERBREAD THEME CHOSEN FOR COUNTRYFEST PROJECT
by Linda Philhower
Franklin County Arts Alliance will provide a gingerbread themed art project at the Cultural Arts Center during Country Fest from 9 am until 3 pm. Students are invited to come and decorate either a gingerbread man/woman ornament to be used in the Christmas decorations for the fences of the CAC.
Also during Country Fest a child sized gingerbread house will be on display. This gingerbread house will be incorporated into a scene to be used for Christmas photos, either for families or individuals. The photos will cost $5.00. We will then email the photos to you.
Another Gingerbread themed program is planned for Saturday, November 10th. All students are again invited to drop by the CAC between 10:00 and 2:00 to decorate a gingerbread ornament for the CAC’s Christmas fences. A story time featuring the story of the gingerbread man will be presented at 11:00am. At 1:00 that day two trained dance teams, from A Time to Dance, will perform. The public is welcome to attend this presentation. Students may attend any or all of the programs that day.
The ornament creations will be incorporated into gorgeous gingerbread themed garlands to surround the Cultural Arts Center during the Christmas Holidays. The festive fences will be lit for the first time on the evening of November 16th when the downtown window displays are unveiled. You will be able to view our display throughout the holiday season.
The gingerbread house will be displayed again on the FCCA’s float during the Christmas parade on December 1st. The public is welcome.
